Learning through Theatre

Saturday, I went to see Les Miserables with some of the YouLearn students and staff. There were also some YouLearn students performing in the play. I had chills through the whole show and there were sniffles floating around through the theater from the gorgeous music. Everyone did an outstanding job.

Learning to Skate

My family and I went ice skating with the YouLearn group in Kelowna. It was my first time skating in my life! My dad was going to show me how to skate. As he got on the ice he twisted his back. It was funny, he couldn't skate any more. As I was learning to skate I fell a lot. It hurt a bit but not too much. Now I love to skate. It is my favourite thing to do. That day we also had some apple cider and cookies. I had a lot of fun and can't wait until we do it again.

Burgeoning Poet?

Congratulations to Charlotte Foster for placing first in the Royal Canadian Legion’s 2013 Remembrance Day poetry contest. Moving on, Charlotte’s poem has advanced to regionals along with other poems throughout the valley. Charlotte is in grade three but competing in the grade four division. We wish her and her poem well at the next level.
